Nuclear deal deprives Iran of possibility to create nuclear weapons - expert
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - The Iran nuclear deal reached in Vienna on Tuesday deprives Tehran of every chance to develop its military nuclear program, PIR Center Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Russia Program Director Andrei Baklitsky has said.
"This is a highly comprehensive agreement. Indeed, it shuts down every possible area in which a military nuclear program could have been developed. The regime of access and monitoring is broader than those for regular members of the international community," Baklitsky told Interfax.
He noted that Iran had made the deal "to exhibit clearness and transparency of its peaceful nuclear program."
The expert reminded that "Iran voluntarily committed to fulfill the Additional Protocol to the IAEA Guarantee Agreement."
"The conclusion is that Iran has actually agreed to give maximal access to its nuclear program and practically everything for the sake of verifying that its program remains peaceful," Baklitsky said.
