Kremlin refrains from commenting on Maria Gaidar's
MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - The Kremlin refrains from commenting on Maria Gaidar's nomination as deputy governor of the Odessa region in Ukraine.
"You know, we have no comments on this," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Friday evening.
It was reported earlier on Friday that Russian public figure and journalist Maria Gaidar would become a deputy head of the Odessa regional administration.
Odessa regional administration head Mikheil Saakashvili had announced Gaidar's appointment at a meeting with business community members. Gaidar is expected to be in charge of social matters in the region.
Maria Gaidar is a daughter of former Russian acting Prime Minister and prominent economist Yegor Gaidar.
