Poroshenko airs concern about escalation of hostilities in Donbas, calls for implementation of Minsk agreements
KYIV. July 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko "expressed his concern about the continued escalation [of hostilities] in Donbas and called for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements" in Friday's telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian presidential press service reported on Friday.
"Petro Poroshenko underscored that Ukraine, unlike the other party, is fulfilling the Minsk agreements," the press service said.
The Ukrainian leader also called for "the unconditional and immediate release of all hostages, including Ukrainian citizens, who are being unlawfully held on Russian territory, including Oleh Sentsov and Nadiya Savchenko."
"The German federal chancellor and the president of France pointed to the importance of the adoption by the Ukrainian parliament of amendments to the constitution as regards the decentralization of power," it said.
The four leaders "agreed to resume dialogue next week," it said.
