Ukrainian govt forces shelling Donetsk airport area - district administration

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian armed forces are shelling the community of Spartak within the Donetsk airport area, the district administration reported on Saturday.

"We've been jumpy for an hour now, it's so loud it's impossible to sleep, and shrapnel is whizzing," the Donetsk news agency quoted a district administration source as saying.

Ukrainian government forces started firing upon the village from Opytne and Avdiyivka at about 4:30 a.m., he said.

"First they fired something heavy, and everything was trembling. Then we heard tanks, machineguns, and mortars," the source said.
