Russia hopes experience of agreement on Iran's nuclear program will be useful for resolving other crisis situations in world - Russian permanent envoy to UN

NEW YORK (UN). July 20 (Interfax) - Russia would like the experience of joint actions taken to find a solution to the situation with the Iranian nuclear program to be used in other crisis situations as well, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin said.

"We would like this invaluable experience of joint actions, which is not burdened with geopolitical calculations, to be used for resolving other crisis situations in which success can only be reached through cooperation. Russia is ready for that," Churkin said in the UN Security Council.

Churkin said that "achieving accord and resolving the situation with the Iranian nuclear program confirm that the international community is capable of resolving the most complex issues if there is political will and if the parties use a realistic approach and respect each other's lawful interests."

"All negotiation participants have proven capable of collecting work. A potential of trust has been accumulated, which will be very useful in implementing the agreement," Churkin said.

The Russian diplomat reiterated that Russia is hoping for assistance from the global community in the implementation of the agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

"We are hoping that all countries will quickly adapt to the new situation and will assist with the successful implementation of the agreement," Churkin said.
