Kyiv calls militia's withdrawal of weapons under 100mm caliber in Donbas 'pseudo-sensation'
KYIV. July 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army in Donbas has withdrawn its weapons to the required distance as determined by the Minsk peace agreements for Ukraine, officer of the press center of the Ukrainian army operation's headquarters Yuzef Venskovych has said.
"A few days ago, the Russian instruments of mass propaganda announced a 'sensation' that units of these pseudo-republics were allegedly withdrawing weapons, even artillery weapons under 100mm caliber, from the line of contact," he told a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"At the same time, this information was accompanied by further strikes against the positions of anti-terrorist operation forces using artillery weapons and tanks with calibers prohibited by the Minsk agreements," Venskovych said.
According to Venskovych, over the past few days, militia forces have shelled the Ukrainian army's positions along the entire contact line more than 320 times. There have been over 160 breaches of the Minsk peace accords, 122mm and 125mm weapons have been used 45 times, 120mm artillery weapons 94 times, and tanks 17 times, he said.
