Federal Tariffs Service being disbanded, functions passing to Federal Antimonopoly Service

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree disbanding the Federal Tariffs Service (FTS) and handing its functions to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the Kremlin press office said.

"The functions of the Federal Tariffs Service, which is being disbanded, are to be transferred to the Federal Antimonopoly Service," the decree says.

The FAS, as the legal successor to the FTS, assumes the obligations of the FTS that arise as the result of the execution of court decisions.

The decree was signed "to enhance state management and control in the sphere of anti-monopoly and tariff regulation, and to optimize the structure of the federal executive bodies."

The government is instructed to ensure all procedures related to the disbandment of the FTS are carried out within the legally prescribed deadlines.

The decree enters into force the date it was signed.
