Kazakh Border Service dog Leo finds 31 kg of heroin in Kyrgyz citizen's car

ASTANA. July 22 (Interfax) - A border detail of the Kordai Auto checkpoint in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan has detained a Kyrgyz citizen for carrying large quantities of heroin, the Border Service of the National Security Committee said on Wednesday.

Over 31 kilograms of heroin were discovered in the car of the man traveling to Russia via Kazakhstan, the report said.

The border guards' dog Leo found the drug packages hidden under the backseat.

The information was shared with the police, and a preliminary inquiry was launched.
