Peskov refrains from commenting on MacArthur Foundation's decision to leave Russia

MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is not commenting on the decision made by the U.S. MacArthur Foundation to stop its activities on the territory of Russia as a result of its inclusion in the Russian Federation Council's "patriotic stop-list" and the creation of a list of unwelcome organizations.

"It's not our agenda," Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told reporters, responding to a question about the Kremlin's attitude to the "patriotic stop-list" and the relevant decision made by the MacArthur Foundation.

MacArthur Foundation's decision to leave Russia became known on Wednesday.

In July, the Federation Council demanded that the Prosecutor General's Office, the Foreign Ministry and the Justice Ministry look into the observance of the Russian legislation by 12 foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating on the territory of Russia. The so-called patriotic stop-list made by the senators included 12 foreign NGOs, most of which are related to the U.S.
