Inter RAO reduces electricity exports to China by 12% in H1

VLADIVOSTOK. July 24 (Interfax) - Eastern Energy Company (EEC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Russian power company Inter RAO , reduced exports of electricity to China by 12% year-on-year to 1.47 billion kWh in the first half of 2015, EEC said in a press release.

However, exports to China rose 2% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2015.

The company attributes the reduction of exports to China in the first half to agreements with Chinese customers to change the contract schedule of supplies, shifting some exports from the winter to the summer. The company plans to maintain annual exports at last year's level.

The company exported more than 135 million kWh of electricity to Mongolia in the first half, 28% less than a year earlier due to the drop in industrial production in the country and the launch of a new generating unit at Ulan Bator CHPP-4.
