MCC to conduct three ISS orbit adjustments in next two months - source

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Mission Control Center (MCC) is planning to carry out three orbit adjustments for the International Space Station (ISS) in August and September, a source in the rocket space industry told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

"In view of the September launch of yet another ISS expedition, on August 24 the orbit will be adjusted by Zvezda Module's thrusters, and after that the engines of the Progress M-28M ship will run twice to change the ISS orbit on September 5 and 7," the source said.

The Soyuz TMA-18M ship carrying a crew consisting of Russian and Kazakh cosmonauts Sergei Volkov and Aidyn Aimbetov, as well as astronaut Andreas Mogensen is due to be launched from Baikonur on September 2. Mogensen and Aimbetov will return to the Earth ten days later with Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka.
