Batch of embargoed cheese from Germany to be destroyed in St. Petersburg
ST. PETERSBURG. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Over twenty tonnes of cheese product from Germany have been discovered by officials from the Rosselkhoznadzor department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the press service for the agency told Interfax on Thursday.
The embargoed products are subject to destruction, the agency said.
"A batch of cheese product from Germany has been detected. The first batch of this product will be destroyed today by burning at the Pulkovo airport complex," the source said.
The press service earlier said a 40-tonne batch of peaches and nectarines that arrived in St. Petersburg from Morocco without documents is also subject to destruction.
