Rospotrebnadzor could expand list of Gagauz wine companies that can import to Russia
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - One more company from the Gagauzia region has received the right to deliver wine to Russia, the press service for the Russian Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) told Interfax on Friday.
"Upon review of the documents submitted to ensure the safety of wine production and the results of an examination, the Shardrdisvin company has also received the right to import wine into Russia," Rospotrebnadzor said.
"The issue of expanding the list of wine suppliers from Gagauzia is being examined," Rospotrebnadzor said.
Rospotrebnadzor earlier allowed a number of wine producers from Gagauzia to export wine to Russia.
There is currently a ban on deliveries of wine from Moldova. The official reason is that there are certain claims about its quality.
The ban does not affect products from the Moldovan region of Gagauzia. There is also no ban on importing wine into Russia from Transnistria.
