Year results of EU integration in Moldova show Chisinau cannot survive without Russian market - Moldovan socialists' leader
CHISINAU. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Chairman of the Moldovan Sociality Party Igor Dodon has urged to establish strategic relations with Russia.
"Moldova will not survive without strategic partnership with Russia, with the Russian market and results of the European integration year are an illustrative example of this," Dodon posted on Friday in social networks when commenting on the decision of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) to resume fruit exports from other 17 Moldovan enterprises.
"Good, friendly and strategic relations can and should be established" with Russia, he said.
On August 6 export to the Russian market was opened to 17 Gagauzia enterprises, residents of which almost unanimously voted at the referendum for joining the Customs Union and supported pro-Moldovan parties at all elections, Dodon said.
"It is no coincidence that I recently said in the parliament that Gagauzia residents are true proponents of strong state and bigger patriots of Moldova than some deputies. Moldova's north also mostly supports Eurasian vector of the country's development. In early 2015 about ten apple producers were able to export their harvest to the Russian market. Soon several more enterprises will get access to the long-awaited traditional markets," Dodon said.
According to Dodon, aspiration of most Moldovans should be reflected in the state policy carried out by the state and parliamentary majority and this is possible solely via holding unscheduled elections as soon as possible.
