U.S. Embassy to Russia congratulates Zakharova on appointment as Foreign Ministry spokesperson
MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - The United States Embassy in Moscow has wished success to the Russian Foreign Ministry's new spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, in her new job.
"Congratulations to the @mfa_russia's first female offical spokesperson, Maria Zakharova," the Embassy's press attache Will Stevens wrote on Twitter.
"Best of luck Masha!" he added.
Stevens also posted a photograph showing Zakharova in the company of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and former State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, wearing a pink Russian trooper hat.
On Monday Zakharova was appointed as Director of the Foreign Ministry's Department of Information and Press.
