DPR says one civilian killed, three injured in strikes against Telmanove district
DONETSK. Aug 11 (Interfax) - One person was killed and another three were injured when the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the Telmanove district, the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said on Tuesday.
"They [Ukrainian army] fired 480 projectiles against the territory of the Telmanove district. One person was killed and another three were injured," a DPR Defense Ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by the Donetsk news agency.
The self-proclaimed republic's Defense Ministry has observed 39 ceasefire violations in the past 24 hours.
"Thanks to the resumption of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) monitors' work, the number of ceasefire breaches has declined to 39 instances in the past 24 hours. A total of 506 artillery shells with 152 mm and 122 mm calibers, 99 tank shells and 198 mines with 82 mm and 120 mm calibers have been fired against the territory of the republic," the ministry said.
Strikes were conducted against the city of Donetsk (Staromykhailivka, the Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts and the Donetsk airport area), Yasynuvata, Petrovske, Bela Kamenka, Krasny Oktyabr, Nova Laspa, Zhabycheve, Sakhanka, Vasylivka, and Spartak.
