Rusal ships 10% more aluminum by rail in 7M - RZD
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - UC Rusal increased aluminum shipments by rail 9.7% year-on-year in January-July to 1.785 million tonnes, Russian Railways (RZD) said in information seen by Interfax.
Export shipments rose 9.5% to nearly 1.6 million tonnes and domestic shipments were up 11.4% to 209,500 tonnes.
Alumina shipments increased 1.9% to3.9 million tonnes, with imports rising 7.5% to 2.5 million tonnes but domestic shipments dropped 6.7% to 1.43 million tonnes.
RZD's figures differ from Rusal's own, which are usually published later because, the aluminum company says, RZD reports aluminum shipped in containers as container cargo, without a breakdown for the type of cargo.
