Russian deputy foreign minister, Chinese ambassador discuss consolidation of intl efforts in combating IS
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special presidential representative for the Middle East and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov received Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui on Tuesday.
"In the course of a substantive conversation, relevant issues pertaining to the development of the situation in Syria and Yemen and consolidation of international efforts in combating Islamic State's terrorist threat were discussed," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
Bogdanov and Hui "confirmed [their] mutual determination to continue close and efficient coordination of Moscow and Beijing's approaches to the Middle Eastern agenda of mutual interest," it said.
