Few weeks before start of new power unit at Berezovskaya GRES - E.ON head

MOSCOW. Aug 12 (Interfax) - The new 800MWt power unit at the Berezovskaya GRES (state district power station) could be started soon, the head of the German energy concern E.ON AG Johannes Teyssen said during a phone conference with reporters.

In just a few weeks an 800MWt coal burning power unit will be started at the Berezovskaya GRES in Krasnoyarsk, he said.

The Berezovskaya GRES is part of the company E.ON Russia , the main shareholder of which is the German concern.

FSK EES concluded work in August for technological connection to the grid.

It was reported earlier that E.ON Russia had pushed back the commission of the Berezovskaya GRES power unit from June to July. The company is fined 0.45 billion rubles monthly because of the delay.

The conditions of the power delivery contract (PDC) suggest a guaranteed sale of all delivered contractual power for 10 years while covering from 70% to 95% of the capital and operational costs, as well as full compensation for the cost of technological connection to the grids.

Given the long duration of the PDC the agency agreement provides for a strict system of generator accountability and fines.
