One woman killed, another two local residents wounded in shelling of Donetsk district - authorities
DONETSK. Aug 12 (Interfax) - A woman was killed and another two local residents wounded in shelling by the Ukrainian side of the Oktyabrske settlement in the city of Donetsk, head of the Kuibyshevsky district authorities in Donetsk Ivan Prikhodko told reporters on Wednesday.
"As a result of the gunfire on Kremlevsky avenue a woman was wounded, and another woman was killed by a projectile impact on Sklyarov street. A young man suffered a fragmentation wound in the shelling of the settlement," Prikhodko said.
It was earlier reported that as a result of the shelling of the Oktyabrske settlement in Donetsk, a projectile directly hit a flat in an apartment house. "Several private houses were also damaged. Luzin street and Vasilchenko street came under gunfire and a fire was reported," Prikhodko told reporters.
The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said earlier on Wednesday that DPR territory had come under fire from the Ukrainian military 24 times over the past day, when more than 300 projectiles of different calibers had been fired.
