Single security space being formed in Caspian Sea - Navy Commander
ST. PETERSBURG. Aug 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Caspian Cup 2015 and the Caspian Derby 2015 are an extremely weighty factor of the joint work of fleets of Caspian littoral states on a single security space in the Caspian Sea, Russian Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Chirkov told reporters on Wednesday.
"In accordance with a decision from the Russian defense minister, a detailed and thorough work is being done to create a committee of navy and naval force commanders of Caspian littoral countries," Chirkov said.
The first working meeting of the Caspian fleet commanders was held on the sidelines of the International Maritime Defense Show 2015 in St. Petersburg to discuss committee technicalities, he said. "The next meeting is now being planned to ponder the creation of the Committee of Navy and Naval Force Commanders of Caspian Littoral States," Chirkov said.
