Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission to meet in fall - Lavrov
MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission is scheduled to meet in the fall, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said following negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.
"We have given special attention to deepening and developing trade and economic relations and we have reached an agreement to hold another meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation in the fall," Lavrov said.
"Iran and the Russian Federation believe this important instrument helps coordinate our common approaches to the development of economic and investment ties," he said.
Lavrov said that he will use the invitation to visit Tehran.
"The minister [Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif] has confirmed his invitation to visit Tehran, which I will gladly use within the dates agreed upon by the sides," Lavrov said.
