Russian embassy so far unaware if any Russians hurt in shooting incident in Istanbul
MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The Russian embassy to Turkey so far has no information as to whether any Russian citizens might have been injured in a shooting incident in Istanbul.
"We haven't yet received information on whether any Russians were harmed in the shooting," Russian embassy press attache Igor Mityakov said.
It was reported earlier that shots had been fired in central Istanbul, and Turkish police managed to detain two armed people. Hurriyet reported that a local law enforcement officer had been injured in the incident.
