S. Ossetia to close border with Georgia for two days
TSKHINVALI. Aug 21 (Interfax) - South Ossetia's State Security Committee is closing its border in a bid to tighten security for the duration of festivities across the republic to mark the seventh anniversary since the republic's independence was recognized by Russia.
"No citizens will be allowed across the national border with Georgia on August 25 and 26," a spokesperson for the State Security Committee told Interfax on Friday.
The border checkpoints will re-open as usual on August 27.
