Two policemen injured in unsuccessful attempt to capture gunman in Dagestan
MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Two law enforcement officials were injured in an unsuccessful attempt to detain a man suspected of belonging to the so-called Dagestani terrorist group in Khasavyurt, a law enforcement source told Interfax.
Security forces conducted an operation on Sultanov Street in Khasavyurt on Friday to detain a federally wanted member of the Dagestani terrorist group, the source said.
The gunman injured two policemen in an exchange of fire and managed to flee, he said.
The injured policemen have been hospitalized, and the gunman is being searched for. A criminal case has been opened into the illegal circulation of weapons and attempt on the lives of law enforcement officials.
