Georgian media claim upcoming dismissal of country's foreign minister

TBILISI. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Georgia's media, citing unnamed sources, have alleged a possible upcoming reshuffle in the country's government, including the potential dismissal of Foreign Minister Tamara Beruchashvili.

Georgian television stations reported on Tuesday that Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who today holds the post of first deputy prime minister and economy minister, would replace Beruchashvili as the country's foreign minister next week.

When commenting on these reports, Beruchashvili herself told journalists that she was not aware of her possible dismissal and had only heard about it from the media.

Kvirikashvili, for his part, declined to comment and advised reporters to refer this question to Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili.
