Uralvagonzavod plans to organize railcar assembly in Iran; Kamaz to restart existing plant

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) and Iran's Azar Kia Industrial & Trading Group plan to create a joint venture to assemble railcars using UVZ bodies and Iranian bogies, the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry said in a statement.

Output would be sold in Iran and in neighboring countries. UVZ plans to deliver up to 3,000 railcars in 2015-2016 and up to 12,000 cars by 2020.

In addition, truck maker Kamaz has held talks with the leadership of Iran's Rakhsh Khodro Diesel, a plant that assembles Kamaz equipment, on restarting the assembly process and selling 180 trucks, the ministry said.

It also said Iran is ready to purchase 150 combines from Rostselmash . Payment arrangements are currently being discussed.
