CSTO KSOR getting ready to restore mock state's territorial integrity during maneuvers near Pskov
MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Collective Rapid Reaction Force (KSOR) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which is holding a joint exercise called Vzaimodeistviye (Interaction) 2015, has begun the first stage of practice in organizing a joint operation that will last two days, the CSTO Secretariat said.
"This stage of the exercise focuses on aspects of decision-making by the CSTO KSOR concerning a joint operation, operation planning and the organizing of interaction, wide support and control during the joint operation, as well as readying the CSTO KSOR forces for the joint operation," according to a statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.
"Today the multinational collective of the CSTO KSOR Command and staff worked from an automated command and control station to plan and prepare for a joint operation to contain an armed conflict with the aim of preserving the sovereignty, protecting the constitutional system and restoring the territorial integrity of a mock CSTO member state," the spokesperson said.
In particular, a mock military-political and strategic environment was created to practice the evaluation of collective-security threats and preparation of proposals for the Collective Security Council to make a decision on the subject of using the CSTO KSOR to stabilize the situation in the collective-security region.
The practice sessions also focused on preparation for a joint operation to contain an armed conflict and protect the territorial integrity of one of the CSTO member states.
