Some 156 people still held captive by militias - Ukrainian president's commissioner
KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax) - According to the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), 156 people remain captured by militias, says Iryna Herashchenko, the Ukrainian president's commissioner for the peace process in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
A total of 2,882 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have been released since the hostilities began in Donbas. According to the SBU's lists, 156 people are still held captive, Herashchenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
On August 27, Donetsk militias released 12 Ukrainian soldiers.
Meanwhile, militiamen claim that over 450 people are held captive in Ukraine.
