Some 160 Ukrainians still held hostage by militia - Kyiv

KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax) - The Donbas militia continue holding hostage 157 people, Iryna Herashchenko, Ukrainian representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group and a member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, said.

"A total of 157 Ukrainians, including some 100 military men and representatives of other defense and security structures and other civilians are still held hostage. A total of 814 people are listed as missing on the SBU list," she said on Facebook on Monday.

Herashchenko said a total of 2,903 Ukrainians, including military personnel and civilians, had been released and found since the beginning of the military operation as of August 31, 2015.

"Specifically, 1,057 servicemen, 64 members of volunteer battalions, 101 police officers, 261 National Guard members, and some 1,400 civilians," she said.
