Kyiv claims 19 militia attacks on Ukrainian army positions over past day
KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax) - The Donbas militia committed 19 violations of the truce, mostly by use of small arms, on Monday, the Ukrainian army operation press center wrote on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
The militia's small arms attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds in Maryinka, Opytne and Avdiivka near Donetsk in the period from 6 p.m. till midnight. A grenade launcher was used south of Avdiivka at about 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The militia used small arms against Ukrainian army positions in Sanzharivka in the Artemivsk sector at 8:30 p.m. A large-caliber machine gun fired at Ukrainian army positions near Lozove at 10 p.m.
Ukrainian positions in Krymske came under fire from the militia's small arms from the side of Sokilnyky in the Luhansk region at around midnight.
The militia did not open fire along the entire contact line in the period from midnight till 6 a.m. on Tuesday, the press center said.
