Russia's energy exports to east by 2035 to grow to nearly 40% - Novak

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The goal of Russia's energy policy in the eastern direction is the diversification of energy exports, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"By 2035, a 2.5-fold to 3-fold increase in energy exports to the east and an increase in the share of the Asia-Pacific region in volume of fuel and energy exports from Russia to 36%-39%, these are serious steps in this direction," he said.

He said that in order to reach these goals, Russia must have a two-fold increase by 2035 in the share of Eastern Siberia and the Far East in the production of liquid hydrocarbons from 11% (2014) to 22% (2035), a two-fold increase by 2035 of the share of Eastern Siberia and the Far East in gas production from 6.5% (2014) to 13% (2035), the development of deep processing of hydrocarbon resources and the creation of an East Siberian and Far East petrochemical clusters in the east of the country.
