Dushanbe policemen attacked by former opposition member, army colonel - source
DUSHANBE. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The attack on policemen near the international airport outside the Tajik capital, which killed three officers of the Interior Ministry and left one with heavy injuries, was perpetrated by the Tajik Defense Ministry's chief mobilization officer Col. Dzhunaidullo Umarov and his supporters, a high-ranking Tajik security official told Interfax on Friday.
"A former member of the United Tajik Opposition (OTO), Dzhunaduillo Umarov, along with his abettors, committed a treacherous attack on a police post in the Dushanbe airport area this morning," the source said.
"All Tajik law enforcement forces have been put on alert in a bid to catch the criminal," he said.
