Belarusian warplanes, helicopters come to Russia for drills

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax-AVN)- As part of preparations for the Shield of the Union-2015 joint Russian-Belarusian operational drills, Belarusian warplanes redeployed to the Pushkin airfield, the headquarters of the Western Military District said.

"Five Sukhoi Su-25 attack fighters, five Mil Mi-24 helicopters and one Mi-8 helicopter arrived in Russia. The Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane has delivered aviation property," says a statement received by Interfax-AVN on Friday.

The Russian-Belarusian Shield of the Union-2015 joint operational exercises will be held at firing ranges in the Western Military District in the Leningrad and Pskov regions from September 10 to 16. More than 8,000 servicemen and around 400 units of military hardware will participate in the war games.
