DPR registers nine enemy shell attacks
DONETSK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has been shelled nine times in the past 24 hours, the DPR defense ministry said on Sunday.
"Nine shells attacks on the DPR territory have been recorded in the past 24 hours," a DPR defense spokesman was quoted by the Donetsk News Agency as saying. That number includes eight mortar attacks on the village of Oktyabrsky.
The attacks were launched with small arms and mortars of the 82- and 120-millimter caliber, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the presidential administration's defense spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianik said on Sunday that five Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the military operation zone in eastern Ukraine in the preceding 24 hours.
"There have been no deaths from hostilities among the Ukrainian military personnel in the past 24 hours but five our soldiers have been injured," Motuzianik said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.
"Total lull has continued" in the direction of Luhansk and Mariupol in the past 24 hours, but there were armed provocations by militiamen in the direction of Donetsk, he said.
