U.S., Georgia to hold joint military exercises
TBILISI. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The United States and Georgia will hold joint exercises in 2016 to find out how rapidly U.S. forces can reach Georgia, for instance, from Bulgaria.
Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli met with Frederick Benjamin (Ben) Hodges, Commanding General of United States Army Europe (USAREUR), in Tbilisi on Monday to discuss joint exercises planned for 2016.
One task of the drills is to find out how rapidly U.S. weapons and servicemen can reach Georgia, for instance, from Bulgaria across the Black Sea, if necessary, the Georgian defense minister said.
