Valery Pak resigns as Rosnedra chief
MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on September 9 signed an order relieving Valery Pak, a deputy natural resources minister, of his duties as head of the Russian federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra).
Medvedev signed a separate order appointing Yevgeny Kiselev, deputy head of Rosnedra, as the agency's acting chief.
Pak left Rosnedra of his own accord, the order states.
Kiselev was responsible at Rosnedra for solid minerals.
"Pak stepped down from the top position at Rosnedra of his own accord. This has nothing to do with an assessment of his professional performance as head of Rosnedra," Natural Resources and Environment Ministry spokesman Nikolai Gudkov told Interfax.
