Fortune teller's family killed in Dagestan - source
MAKHACHKALA. Sept 15 (Interfax) - A woman who made her living telling fortunes, her husband and a relative staying with them have been murdered in an armed attack in the village of Rubas in the Derbent district of Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus, a source in the republic's law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
The woman and two men were shot and killed at around 2:00 a.m. Moscow time, he said.
"The preliminary information available indicates that the attackers fled in a car belonging to the persons killed by them. The main theory suggests that the murder was perpetrated by gang members in retaliation for the woman's activities," the source said.
A spokesman for Dagestan's Interior Ministry has confirmed the triple murder.
"We confirm information about the murder. An investigative brigade is working at the scene. The circumstances of what happened and the identities of those killed are being verified," the spokesman said.
