Unemployment in Russia stays at 5.3% in August - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Unemployment in Russia was 5.3% in August, as in July, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Unemployment was 5.4% in June, 5.6% in May, 5.8% in April, 5.9% in March, 5.8% in February, 5.5% in January and 5.3% in December.
There were 4.067 million jobless people at the end of August, just 2,000 fewer than a month previously.
Russia had 956,000 registered unemployed at the end of August, compared with 975,000 at the end of July.
The work force or economically active population totaled 77.4 million or 53% of the overall population at the end of August.
