Rosnedra considering another 11 applications from Rosneft, Gazprom for sections on shelf
MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra) is currently studying another 11 applications from Rosneft and Gazprom for the allocation to them of sections on the Russian shelf, Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi told journalists.
He did not say on how many sections and which ones each of the state companies were bidding.
Donskoi said that there is a government order on giving Rosneft another three sections on the shelf and one to Gazprom.
It was reported with reference to First Deputy Natural Resources Minister Denis Khramov, that Rosneft will likely receive the licenses for the Olyutorsky and Khatyrsky sections in the Bering Sea and the Gusino-Zemelsky section in the Barents Sea. Gazprom will receive the license for the Sharapovsky section in the Kara Sea. He also said that the Natural Resources Ministry is ready to allocate more sections on the shelf to Rosneft and Gazprom if there are applications.
