Putin watches episode of military exercise involving destruction of group of terrorists
ORENBURG. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is watching the command post exercise center 2015 at the Donguz testing ground.
A tactical episode involving the destruction of a simulated large armed group of terrorists using over 100 planes, a landing force, rocket troops and artillery, and also engineering and robo technical forces was presented to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Putin asked a lot of clarification-seeking questions during the training.
Specifically, he asked questions about the effectiveness of various aviation munitions, the precision of air strikes and its control. The president said told control takes place via an aerial survey, cameras installed on the ground and direct examinations of impact sites.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov, the head of the Russian General Staff, accompanied the president at the training.
According to the training scenario, a large terrorist group was detected that needed to be destroyed. Aviation, missile systems, tanks, and airborne forces were used for that.
The strategic exercise Center 2015, the largest military exercise this year, is conducted in Russia on September 14-20. They involve some 95,000 people, over 7,000 weapons and military equipment, up to 170 planes and twenty ships.
Various stages of maneuvers take place on twenty ground, sea and aviation firing ranges and sites located on the territory of the Central and Southern Military Districts.
