U.S. ambassador to Russia did not attend Marino opposition rally, could be anywhere thanks to Photoshop - embassy
MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The United States Ambassador to Russia John Tefft was not at an opposition rally in Marino, the U.S. Embassy said on Twitter on Monday.
Media outlets earlier published reports with a photo in which Tefft appears to be answering reporters' questions at the opposition rally in Marino last Sunday.
Ambassador John Tefft spent his day off yesterday at home, said the embassy, adding that thanks to Photoshop he could be anywhere.
In proof of this, the embassy posted on its Twitter page a photo of the ambassador talking to the press against various backgrounds, including an ice hockey rink.
Nearly 4,000 people gathered for the opposition rally in Marino a day earlier. "The outflow of Marino demonstrators has begun. At its peak, the event involved around 4,000 people," a spokesperson said.
