Kremlin spokesman refers questions of Russian military presence in Syria to Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has refused to comment on Western media reports that Russia allegedly plans to deploy 2,000 servicemen near the town of Latakia in Syria.

"We have already explained everything here. Absolutely all answers have been given. Any additional questions on that score need to be referred to the Defense Ministry," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

The same concerns recent media reports alleging the placement of Russian military airplanes and drones in Syria, he said.

"These are not our questions. They should be referred to the Defense Ministry," Peskov said.

Answers offered by the Russian Defense Ministry are justifiably concise, Peskov said.

"They give concise answers. Why should they give expanded [answers]?" he added.
