Sanctions create difficulties for EU-Russia energy cooperation - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The European Union's sanctions policy is not conducive to full and proper cooperation between Russia and the EU in the political and economic spheres, including energy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with EU ambassadors and the head of the EU Delegation to Russia in Moscow.

"The minister pointed out that the EU's pressing sanctions policy is not conducive to full and proper cooperation between Russia and the EU in the political and economic spheres, including energy cooperation, which has started experiencing difficulties against the backdrop of the Ukrainian crisis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
