Inter RAO looking at development in Asia, studying possibilities in Africa

MOSCOW. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Inter RAO is interested in developing international business, a member of the company's management board, Ilnar Mirsiyapov, said at the Back to Business Russia conference, organized by Bloomberg.

"We are looking first of all at Asia, and as for Africa, we visit this region quite often and we want to take a closer look soon," he said, saying that the company is looking at new opportunities in Algiers, Morocco, and a number of other countries.

He said that the company is in discussions for working in Africa for now.

State companies own more than 51% of Inter RAO. The biggest of them is OJSC Rosneftegaz with 27.63%. Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) owns 18.6%, the quasi-treasury stake is 19%, MMC Norilsk Nickel holds 13.21%, RusHydro owns 4.92% and minority shareholders hold 16.65%.
