South Ossetia resident wounded near Ossetia-Georgia border

TSKHINVALI. Sept 23 (Interfax) One civilian resident of South Ossetia was injured near the village of Ioncha in the Znaur district in shelling from the Georgian side, Murat Dzhioyev, South Ossetian presidential envoy for post-conflict settlement, told Interfax on Wednesday.

"A tractor driver was wounded during plowing as a result of shelling from the Georgian side. According to available information, the tractor driver was wounded in the arm. Officers of relevant services have already gone to the scene, circumstances of the incident are being investigated," Dzhioyev said.

The South Ossetian administration made its statement in reaction to the incident when speaking at the meeting currently held at the Ossetia-Georgia border in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism.
