SIMFEROPOL. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Turkish businessman Ibrahim Aydin is investing $15 million in the creation of a sheep farming complex in northwest Crimea, Crimean Deputy Prime Minister Ruslan Balbek has said.
"These are Turkish investors. They are creating a unique farm of 100,000 head of sheep in the village of Slavnoye in the Raznodolnensky District. The project is already underway. Everything is due to be built before the new year. For the implementation of the investment project, the Northwestern Oil Company has been registered in accordance with Russian laws," Balbek told a press conference in Simferopol on Thursday.
The farm will specialize in meat and dairy sheep breeds. The investment project also involves the creation of a milk- and meat-processing plant.
Aydin also built sheep farms in Australia and New Zealand, Balbek said.
