OSCE chairperson-in-office concerned about escalating tensions in Karabakh conflict zone
YEREVAN. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic have met to discuss the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone and ways of resolving this conflict.
Dacic "expressed his profound concern about escalating tensions in the conflict zone" and stressed the need to honor the truce, the Armenian Foreign Ministry press service has said.
"Nalbandian noted that Baku had not abandoned its destructive position and provocations despite the numerous appeals made by the OSCE Minsk Group cochairmen," it said.
Tensions flared along the contact line in the Karabakh conflict zone last week.
A missile strike conducted by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on defensive positions in the northeastern sector last Friday killed four army servicemen of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and injured another 16. Prior to that, on Thursday, three Armenian civilians were killed and four suffered injuries in an Azerbaijani bombardment.
In turn, Baku reported the death of a civilian in Armenian gunfire in the Agdam district on Sunday.
