Georgian president considers dialogue with Russia 'absolute necessity'
TBILISI. Sept 28 (Interfax) - President Giorgi Margvelashvili rules out a possible refusal of a dialogue with Russia.
"This is not a matter of choice to conduct a dialogue with Russia or not. This is an absolute necessity. Meanwhile, for these talks the time should come and some common points should exist," Margvelashvili said at a meeting with representatives of the Georgian diaspora in New York.
He believes that the war in Abkhazia and South Ossetia "has brought nothing to Russia."
"The occupation of 20% of Georgian territory does not settle any Russian problem," the president said, the U.S. visit of whom Georgian television is covering.
