Russia considers attempts to shake authority, legitimacy of UN to be extremely dangerous - Putin

NEW YORK. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin sees danger in the attempts to shake the authority and legitimacy of the UN.

"We consider the attempts to shake the authority and legitimacy of the UN to be extremely dangerous. It may lead to the collapse of the entire architecture of international relations. Then we will really have no rules except for the right of the strong one," Putin said at the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.

"It will be a world in which the dominance of collective work will be replaced by the dominance of egoism, a world in which there will be more and more dictate, and less and less equal rights, less real democracy and freedom, a world in which truly independent states will be replaced by many virtual protectorates, territories run from the outside," Putin said.
